It’s the start of a brand new year with a brand new board! But don’t you worry, you’re in the hands of experienced people, Selin (left) and Lex (right) who are ready to play their parts.

Hey there! My name is Selin and I am excited to be part of this year’s LOF Board. I did my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Organisations at Leiden University, where I had the opportunity to be part of the Faculty Council of Social and Behavioral Sciences, a Board Member of the Democratic Students Party, as well as a member of the Hague Union of Students. I have enjoyed being able to engage actively with student participation from different perspectives, learning valuable lessons along the way. I am continuing my education with a Master’s degree in UvA, where you can spot me with a cup of caramel coffee or hot chocolate in hand (my fun fact is I am a big sweet tooth!) or enjoying spending time with friends 🙂  Looking forward to supporting and working with you! 🌻

Hi everyone! I’m Lex, short for Alexandra, and I’m going to be the other half of the LOF board. I became involved in student democracy through protesting the budget cuts through which I became active in the Leiden Student Union and later was part of a group of students that revived the Hague Union of Students, of which I was the first (interim) chair. I then became part of the Leiden Humanities Faculty Council as I followed the Master’s programme of International Relations in Leiden and was also part of the OLC. I’m going to be studying history at Leiden this year so you might see me on campus. My favourite part about meeting other involved students is seeing the passion that everyone brings and helping to support it so I am thrilled that I get to contribute to the student democracy movement. 

They will be taking over from Koko and Seda, the board from 2025-6, and continuing the hard work that they put in.
